Fire in Driebergen: do not spread to the fireworks depot | Domestic

DRIEBERGEN-RIJSENBURG – Firefighters managed to prevent the serious fire in Driebergen-Rijsenburg from spreading to a fireworks depot. That building (a storage and sales point) will remain monitored, the security region reports. The fire is now under control.

During the night between Friday and Saturday a fire broke out in a laundry on Kleinloolaan in Utrecht. He went to a hardware store. Both buildings were destroyed. Since there is also a fireworks shop nearby, the firefighters were on site with a lot of equipment.

Houses in a nearby residential area were evacuated, partly as a precaution due to the storage of fireworks, but also due to flying fires. 36 people were taken to a hotel. The owner of the fireworks depot was present and was able to report that many fireworks from the depot had already been sold, says a spokesperson for the safety region.
