The fire extinguishing efforts, which broke out in the Boyalı Neighborhood of Manisa’s Gördes district last Wednesday and spread to the Salihli district on Friday, have been continuing by air and land for 80 hours.
The fire, which affected the Boyalı, Karayakup, Çağlayan, Yeniköy, Malkoca and Dalkara neighborhoods of Gördes, the Kale, Kemer, Kurttutan and Hacıhıdır neighborhoods of Salihli, and the Yunuslar and Çamköy neighborhoods of Gölmarmara, damaged forests as well as agricultural areas. 1 plane, 3 helicopters, 93 extinguishing teams, 34 water supply vehicles, 26 construction equipment, 7 AFAD teams, 5 security teams, 30 gendarmerie teams, 4 gendarmes and TOMAs, including 529 personnel, are fighting day and night to control the fire, which has affected a large area due to the wind.
Salihli District Governor Ali Güldoğan and Salihli District Gendarmerie Commander Captain Doğukan Karaaslan closely followed the fire extinguishing efforts, which were effective in a wide area.
On the other hand, efforts to control the forest fire, which has entered its 5th day, continue. – MANİSA
