“Today, after 9:00 a.m., there was a shooting incident at a school … in which a sixth-grade student, a student of the school, lost his life,” Ilka Koskimaki, head of the of the East Uushima Police Department, adding that two others were “seriously injured.”
As previously announced, a 12-year-old had been arrested as a suspect for the bloody incident. The school has 800 students aged 7 to 15 and 90 staff. Like other schools in Finland, the children had just returned to classes after the long Easter weekend.
