Financial Advisors Expressed Their Problems Before the Ministry of Treasury and Finance

(ANKARA) – The Ankara Chamber of Certified Public Accountants (ASMMMO) gathered once again to voice the problems they are experiencing. ASMMMO President Turgut Bahadır, who read the press release, said, “We have voiced our problems many times. What more should we do for the Minister of Finance to see the certified public accountants?”

ASMMMO made a press statement in front of the Ministry of Treasury and Finance about the increasing work and tax burden. ASMMMO President Turgut Bahadır said in the statement, “The workload is increasing every day. Thousands of businesses will experience very serious problems with the inflation adjustment. The number of our colleagues who have heart attacks and die due to the stress they experience is increasing” and added, “The knife has reached the bone. Minister of Finance, what more should we do for you to see the financial advisors?”

During the protest, accountants and financial advisors carried banners that read “We are tired of your systems that do not work”, “We can no longer breathe”, “Inflation adjustments should be made annually”, “Accounting is a fire pit”, “Our profession is our honor, NO to forced labor”. Accountants and financial advisors who reacted to the problems they experienced broke their computers by throwing them on the ground.

In the press release read by ASMMMO President Turgut Bahadır, he stated that despite the fact that they have been voicing their problems all over the country for weeks, the Ministry of Treasury and Finance has not found a solution to their problems. Bahadır, who talked about the problems they have experienced, said the following:

“For weeks, all our colleagues have been protesting in almost every province of our country, we have been trying to explain our problems to the authorities with press releases, rallies attended by tens of thousands, and mass actions. Now we are here to protect our profession, our labor, and our rights. The chips are down. How else can we explain ourselves and our problems? Minister of Finance, what more should we do for you to see us financial advisors? We expect an urgent solution to our problems.

“Thanks to you, this profession is no longer sustainable”

At this rate, you will not be able to find a professional to send a declaration. This profession has ceased to be sustainable thanks to you. We do not accept the drudgery imposed on us. We do not want to provide information to each institution separately. Your systems are not working on the last day of declarations. Declarations and notifications should be simplified. The minimum wage schedule should be rearranged according to the conditions of the day. We do not want a show-off financial holiday.

Thousands of small and medium-sized businesses, loss-making and inactive companies will experience very serious problems with inflation adjustments and will face closure due to the heavy tax burden. In addition, this practice will force companies investing in our country to pay taxes at the investment stage before they even issue an invoice. This will increase unemployment and deepen the economic crisis. While we are waiting for a solution to our problems, the ministry is confronting us with a new problem every day. We see that a new draft participation fee circular is being prepared. No one can receive a contribution fee from the data we produce. On the contrary, they should owe us a contribution. Everything has become money for the ministry. We should not be surprised if they introduce a breathing tax soon. The workload of our colleagues is increasing every day, they have to work until late at night. The number of our colleagues who have heart attacks and die due to the stress and distress they experience is increasing.
