TO THE GOVERNMENTAL INDIFFERENCE TO SOLVE THE PROBLEMS
It is time for the leadership of the Center-Left to appear politically mature and to listen to the “wants” of the people
By Spyros Themelis
The fact that the Prime Minister of the country Kyriakos Mitsotakis stated that fortunately our citizens have now sent the message shows that until now he was not aware of the real situation prevailing in Greek society.
Popular discontent never reached his political office.
We say this politely so as not to say that it was midnight for the magnitude of the problems facing the world. Something that was evident from his now infamous phrase about the price of half a kilo of feta!!!
And these problems are not the voting of marriage between same-sex couples, as he claimed, among others.
What Mr. Mitsotakis has not yet understood is that he has created a crowded government, the members of which have turned into pawns. At best, as his sister Dora Bakoyannis said, they have ridden the rod.
Considering their party “indestructible”, due to the poor performance of the opposition, they have turned into praisers of the Prime Minister, with the sole aim of securing his favor, and through this, their government position.
It is enough for them to repeat, at every small or big opportunity, their report to the Prime Minister, without actually producing work, to face the problems of the daily life of the Kosmaki.
Another typical example is that of increases in products. When prices were (and still are) sky high, the government excuse was imported inflation. Until he realized that the multinationals were selling their products more expensively in Greece than in other European countries. And when you realized it, you raised the matter with the European institutions.
They are not random
Thus, in yesterday’s European elections, the party of ND. lost over a million voters. And of course he didn’t lose them because the government passed the law for the marriage of same-sex couples…
All of them were lost because of the government’s non-existent policy in dealing with accuracy, security, the partisanization of the public sector, etc. In which case was the Prime Minister’s political position for the excellent and the capable applied? In none. The only qualification that a public servant must have is to be a party official of the ND. That’s enough to make him a manager even if he doesn’t know where the four go.
So these are the “excellent” and the “competent?”
All sectors resent the government’s choices. The next day the customs officers, yesterday the firefighters, tomorrow some other branch. And the neo-democratic celebration continues challenging for the rest of society.
In a logic that says “we are power, we do what we want”.
Therefore, the loss in voters and percentages for the ND is not accidental. And the longer he continues in this defiant way of indifference, the closer he will be to the government exit.
Perhaps a fact that has not been evaluated correctly, is the fact that, for the first time since 2019, the sum of the three parties of the center-left reaches that of the ND. Which means that if at some point it gets serious and joins forces then it will be difficult, very difficult for the ruling party in the next national elections.
The castle lowered
The image that prevails in continental society is similar.
Which sees the indifferent government as having abandoned it to its small and large problems.
Because she does NOT see any of the many projects, which are necessary to help her on the road to development, being launched. NOT EVEN ONE.
For this reason the castle of high rates came down
Third in line
She also sees that, while in the position of the Speaker of the Parliament (third rank in the Hellenic Republic) she has a continental, Kostas Tassoulas, she is saddened to note that he deals little or nothing with the big continental problems. He sees his activity as limited to the financing of some churches and monasteries and that is all.
Is he unable or indifferent to intervene in order to stop this great and unfair government treatment of Epirus?
Who has put his back in order to advance one of the many infrastructure projects of the place that are either bogged down, or there is no care at all?
Since 2000 he has been continuously elected MP (24 years now!!!) and yet there is not a single project that has helped.
How do we move forward?
In no way do all of these constitute a personal attack on the President of the Parliament, whom we respect. But if we don’t demand responsibility from him, which continental MP should we ask? From Vassilis Yogiakas, or from the Style of Arta who celebrates that the prefecture became the second blue, deliberately ignoring that in the Prefecture of Arta SYRIZA scored its largest national percentage!!!
Who should we hold accountable?
Maria Kefala, a politician of only five years, or Spyros Kyriakis, elected for the first time?
The responsibility of the Center Left
Therefore, the responsibility of the parties of the center-left is, for the first time after 1981, so great towards the citizens of the country, in the face of this incompetence, worthlessness and viciousness.
They should take the right message from the European elections which captured much better the real picture of society.
Faced with the tsunami of the right and the extreme right, which dominates Greece and Europe, they must realize that it is time to react. Putting aside personal strategies and pursuits for the common good.
Even if the leaderships are not ready to do so, there must be a movement from below.
From the people. Because only he will provide the right and necessary solution.
