Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis get together again on a film set for the filming of Freaky Friday 2, a new installment of this comedy that will be released in theaters in 2025.
“The Colemans are back and will hit theaters in 2025! The sequel to Freaky Friday is already in production!” the production company Walt Disney Studios reported this Monday on X, accompanying its message with a photograph of the actresses taken from hand, while Curtis makes horns with his other hand in a nod to the first film.
Lohan and Curtis reprise their roles as Anna and Tess Coleman in the sequel, which also includes returning cast members from the first installment, including Mark Harmon (Ryan), Chad Michael Murray (Jake), Christina Vidal Mitchell (Maddie), Haley Hudson (Peg), Stephen Tobolowsky (Elton Bates), Rosalind Chao (Pei-Pei) and Lucille Soong (Pei-Pei’s mother), Variety reported.
Joining this cast are new faces including Julia Butters, Manny Jacinto, Maitreyi Ramakrishnan and Sophia Hammons.
Freaky Friday, the comedy about a mother and her teenage daughter who magically exchange bodies on a strange Friday, premiered in 2003 and grossed $160 million in theaters around the world.
Disney has not yet revealed details about the plot of this new film, which will be directed by Canadian Nisha Ganatra and is scheduled to premiere on the big screen next year.
