According to the previous agreement, 15 footballers including national team captain Sabina Khatun received 50,000 taka per month from September 1. 10 people got 30,000 taka, 4 people got 20,000 taka and 2 people got 18,000 taka. In all, the salary figure for 31 footballers was a little over 11 lakhs per month.
Mahfuza Akhter Kiran, chairman of BAFF’s women’s wing committee, told Bangla Tribune, “We wrote a letter requesting FIFA for the salary of the girls. FIFA said the girls’ salaries could be paid from the funds they give to FIFA. Earlier FIFA did not have the opportunity to pay the girls from the grant. It had to be procured in another way. Now to be able to pay that from the grant is a bit of a relief for us.’
This time, based on the performance, there will be a new contract from May. But the salary will not increase, it will remain the same. However, Sabina Khatun did not receive any response despite her appeal for salary increase. The new contract is likely to include 34/35 players.
