FIFA classification: a jump for Qatar and Jordan and a decline for Egypt, Tunisia and Algeria

Switzerland – The Argentine national team, champion of the Qatar 2022 World Cup, maintained its top spot in the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) rankings issued today, Thursday, for the month of February 2024.

It has become common for the Argentine national team to maintain the lead in the past months after achieving the World Cup in Qatar and its consistent level and results under coach, Lionel Scaloni.

The rankings did not witness a major change in the top 10 international teams, as they did not play any matches during the month of January.

Top 10 teams in FIFA rankings for February 2023:
1- Argentina 2- France 3- England 4- Belgium 5- Brazil 6- Netherlands 7- Portugal 8- Spain 9- Italy 10- Croatia.

While the continents of Africa and Asia witnessed many changes in their teams in the current classification issued a short while ago on the official “FIFA” website.

The Jordanian national team advanced 17 places in the FIFA rankings issued, ranking 70th after the success it achieved in the 2023 Asian Cup in Qatar.

The Jordanian team ranked second in the tournament after losing to the Qatari team, which jumped 21 places in the rankings to rank 37th.

The Saudi national team advanced 3 places to rank 53rd globally.

Morocco advanced one place to become 12th, while Egypt fell 3 places to 36th.

The Tunisian and Algerian teams fell 13 places, with the Eagles of Carthage in 41st place, while Algeria ranked 43rd in the world after their exit from the group stage of the 2023 African Cup.

The Iraqi national team advanced 4 places to become No. 59 in the monthly rankings, while the UAE national team fell five places to become No. 69 in the world.
