The leader of the Popular Party, Alberto Núñez Feijoo, harshly attacked VOX this Monday, after Santiago Abascal’s party reminded that PP and PSOE vote together in Europe almost 90% of the time. According to Feijoo, VOX wants to focus its European election campaign on “disqualifying” the PP. He affirms that the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, will be “delighted.” Since, he affirms, the PSOE “is going to seek a tie” by “dividing” and “cutting up the vote” of the center-right.
«Divide and conquer. The Roman Empire always used it. Well, what I propose to you is that they do not divide us. Let them not divide us. Those of us who want the Government to change, we are united. Those of us who want this nightmare to change and a new Government begin, we are united,” Feijoo proclaimed. This is how he spoke at a rally at La Muralla in Talavera de la Reina (Toledo) together with the president of the PP of Castilla-La Mancha, Paco Núñez.
Also Feijoo He was proud of the rally organized by the PP this Sunday in Puerta de Alcalá – whose attendance the PP itself estimated at around 80,000 people –. He criticizes that the Government and the PSOE have dedicated themselves to “disparaging” and “disqualifying” that act of their formation. “Since Sánchez has been in the Government, he has never brought together so many people,” he stated.
Yes indeed, Feijoo has stressed that what draws his “attention” is the “contempt of VOX” for this act of the PP. «There they, there their responsibility. “If your campaign basically consists of disqualifying the Popular Party, I can assure you that the Socialist Party is delighted,” he says. At this point, he insists that, for him, “the only ballot for change is that of the Popular Party.” He made no mention of the recent letter that Santiago Abascal, leader of VOX, sent him to organize a common front against the PSOE and which received no response. Nor of VOX’s calls to break any negotiations between popular and socialists, among other things to renew the CGPJ.
Likewise, the president of the PP has once again asked the Government to withdraw the amnesty law and call general elections. He accuses Pedro Sánchez of having “humiliated everyone to be president of the Government for a few more months.” For this reason, he has demanded the withdrawal of the amnesty and not carrying out this “act of political, moral and judicial indignity.” At this point, he has advised Sánchez to “at least regain the dignity of leaving.”
“Let him withdraw it, call elections and ask the people for their opinion again,” said Feijoo, before the vote that will be held this Thursday in the Plenary Session of Congress. In his opinion, in Spain there is a Government “divided, collapsed and incapable” of carrying out any law other than the amnesty.
Furthermore, Feijoo has accused the “liberticidal” government of Pedro Sánchez of placing the “vast majority” of Spaniards as “second-class” citizens. For all these reasons, he has encouraged people to go to the polls on June 9 because, in his opinion, Spain “does not deserve the mediocre Government it has.”
