Federal government grants up to 90 thousand pesos to improve your home

The federal government provides support of up to 90 thousand pesos for the improvement of housing in Mexico.

What does it consist of and how to obtain it?

After the covid-19 pandemic, the federal government established a program for the improvement and expansion of housing in Mexico in order to reduce the inequality gaps that exist in the country and affect millions of people.

Housing is identified by the government as a space for comprehensive development for all who live in it. Considering this, the support of the For Better Housing program is granted to people in a situation of housing backwardness who need to expand and/or improve their housing.

In 2024, the PMV will have a presence in 214 municipalities in the states of Aguascalientes, Baja California, Baja California Sur, Campeche, Chiapas, Chihuahua, CoahuilaColima, DurangoGuanajuato, Guerrero, Hidalgo, Jalisco, Mexico, Michoacán, Morelos, Nayarit, New Leon, Oaxaca, Puebla, Queretaro, Quintana Roo, San Luis Potosí, Sinaloa, Sonora, Tabasco, Tamaulipas, Tlaxcala, Veracruz, Yucatan and Zacatecas.

To be chosen you must:

• Be 18 years or older.

• Not having been a beneficiary of this or any other program operated by Conavi during the fiscal years 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023.

• Live in the areas determined by the authorities of one of the 214 municipalities of the 31 entities of the country.

• Valid official identification

• Proof of address

• CURP

• Document that proves the legal possession or ownership of the home to which the support will be applied.

No cost is contemplated for technical assistance and the delivery of support to the beneficiaries will be direct and in a single presentation.

The support line of the program includes two; the housing expansion for an amount of up to 90 thousand pesos; and housing improvement for up to 35 thousand pesos.

Support will take preference towards people in a situation of housing backwardness in need of improving their housing, who live in priority industrial estates because they are areas with a greater degree of marginalization, with a majority indigenous population or with high rates of violence.

The operation mechanism contemplates the preparation of a basic socioeconomic information card, followed by the integration of cases for the financing committee, followed by the integration of files, subsequently the payment and the opening of bank accounts at the Banco del Bienestar will be processed. , followed by the delivery of support.

The beneficiaries will be responsible for the application of the resources, adhering to the guidelines of the guidelines and allowing the required visits. They may also decide on the hiring of technicians, architects, engineers and workers.

Finally, after a maximum of 3-4 months depending on the project, a closing visit will be made to verify the success of the support.
