Former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan’s party Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has claimed that the results of at least 85 seats in the February 8 elections were rigged. In these seats, their supported candidates won. Therefore, the party has commented that such irregularities are a big attack on Pakistan’s democracy.
In Islamabad, the party said in a statement that independent candidates supported by them won at least 179 seats.

However, in the official results, candidates supported by Tehreek-e-Insaf won 92 seats. Nawaz Sharif’s party won 75 seats and Pakistan People’s Party 54 seats. However, no single party got the majority to form the government. So the discussion about the alliance is going on.
Meanwhile, an application has been made to the Supreme Court of Pakistan to cancel the election. A three-member bench agreed to hear the petition.
Chief Justice of Pakistan Qazi Faiz Isa will lead this bench of Justice Mohammad Ali Mazhar and Justice Musarat Hilali.
The petition has named the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) and the federal government as respondents.
A citizen named Ali Khan filed a petition demanding fresh elections within 30 days. The petition demanded general elections under the supervision of the judiciary ensuring fairness, transparency and accountability.
