If Rudyard Kipling had lived in the 21st century, he would certainly have named the main character of The Jungle Book not Mowgli, but Terminator. Karlos Vémola (38) lives among exotic animals and told Bleska that he wouldn’t change his extravagant lifestyle for anything in the world.
Karlos, when was your love for animals born?
“It’s been love since childhood… Since I grew up in the city, my parents forbade me a dog and a “stupid” hamster. And I like to say, never ban animals from kids, or they’ll turn out to be a dork like me! (laughs) But I can’t imagine my life without these darlings.”
Last year conservationists took away your tigress, can you briefly go back to this event? “I was wrong, I admit! I bought Antonia Ramba without papers. But on the other hand, if I hadn’t, they would have spent it a long time ago. I love animals! The conservationists are would-be experts, they perceive animals only as work and they have them for business.”
Is it realistic that he will return to your breeding?
“Unfortunately. He will remain in a kennel in Germany for the rest of his life. But after the match in Eden, my family and I are going to see her.”
How many animals do you have in Vémoland anyway?
“That’s a very good question, but I don’t know the answer to it myself. There are so many of them that it is impossible to even count them.”
Do you plan to expand that unknown number even further?
“Of course! Animals, like children, are never enough.”
So are you planning to add more human hungry necks to your family?
“I have four children, but so far I’m halfway through. (laughs) I know, I’m pretty selfish, but otherwise that’s a question for my wife Lela. But I have to keep urging her to hurry up.’
Back to your pets, do you know what else is on your wish list?
“After the win over Attila Végh, I will go pick up the eagle, which is currently undergoing re-education. But for the future, I still miss Bimbo the elephant.”
And what about the camel, you talked about that earlier too…
“You’re right, he’s next on the list. I will ride it like Pólívka on a horse in the movie Kurvahošigutntág.” (laughter)
If the new additions are an elephant or a camel, you’d have to expand the plot a bit, wouldn’t you?
“Sure! In order to buy an elephant, I still have to beat up a few people, earn more money, buy a new house with a bigger garden, and last but not least, I must not forget to expand my wife’s wardrobe. (helpless smile) That way everyone will be maximally satisfied.”
After the match with Végh, you announced the end of your career, is that valid?
“Yes, it does. (pause) But don’t think that if I end my sports career after the fight with Attila Végh, then my life will end. On the contrary, it is just beginning, no matter how the match ends.”
You say you have your future lined up, so what are your plans?
“I never plan anything. I don’t have a plan B. I’m only focused on one thing – defeating Attila.”
Social networks and podcasts are also part of your life, do you enjoy it?
“They people think I’ve been doing it for a while, but fart. I have been active on the Internet for a long time when I came up with my Karlos show.”
