“Fauda” star Idan Amedi wounded in war

According to Israeli media reports, Idan Amedi, known from the Israeli television series “Fauda,” is recovering from an injury apparently sustained while on duty in the Gaza Strip. The Israeli singer and actor was seriously injured in the clashes.

Amedi, who plays the role of Sagi Tzur in the popular Netflix series, joined his Combat Engineering Corps unit as a reservist following the Hamas terrorist attack in October. He also talked about his mission on Instagram.

The Times of Israel newspaper writes that the 35-year-old has now been injured and taken to the Sheba Medical Center in Israel. He is said to have undergone surgery there and is receiving further treatment. According to the report, the Israeli actor’s father told Walla news site that there was no danger to his life.

“Fauda” creators Lior Raz and Avi Issacharoff spoke out in a post on X. There they explained that Idan Amedi was “a true hero” who had decided from the first day of the war “to put everything aside and go fight. First to the north and then to the south. We pray for his speedy recovery and are confident that he will be fine.”

Idan Amedi became known as a singer in Israel in 2010. The singer-songwriter has released several albums and has had success with his music. Since 2017 he has been in front of the camera for the Netflix production “Fauda”. He plays the character of Sagi since the second season. The series about a special unit of the Israel Defense Forces was also successful internationally. There are currently four seasons available to watch on Netflix.
