Fatih Tekke: We missed 8-9 clear goal opportunities in the match

Corendon Alanyapor’s technical director Fatih Tekke, who drew 1-1 with Eyüpspor at home in the first week of the Trendyol Super League, said that they missed 8-9 clear goal opportunities throughout the match and were the side that lost two points.

Tekke stated in the press conference held after the match that if his players had been able to convert the chances they had, especially in the first minutes of the match, into goals, the story of the match could have been very different.

Tekke, who stated that the opponent also missed 2 clear goal opportunities in the first part of the match, said, “They could have scored too, but if I am not mistaken, we also had 8-9 clear opportunities. We were able to score one of them. But I am quite pleased with the desire of my players, their will, the harmony in the formation changes, the repetition we worked on, and the number of opportunities we found in the third zone.”

Tekke, who stated that the problems from last season were continuing, said, “We were also late due to the economic conditions experienced by all clubs and the problematic transfer process. Everything has shown us that we need players in the front area since last season. This of course makes me unhappy.”

Tekke noted that the first part of the season will be difficult for them due to the adaptation of the new players and the process of understanding the game, and said that they do not have any problems in terms of game play, plan and organization.

At the end of the 90 minutes, both teams shared a point. But the team that missed two points was Alanyaspor. We are sorry for that. We will play RAMS Başakşehir, one of the best teams in the league, away. It will be a difficult match. Now we will rest to prepare for it.”
