MEXICO CITY (apro).- Elements of the Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC) arrested Édgar Jesús “N”, alias “Faso”, related to the disappearance of the former Pumas soccer player, Diego Jonathan Rodríguez Miranda, also known as “el Kalusha”, who was the alleged leader of a criminal cell dedicated to drug dealing and extortion in the Coyoacán, Tlalpan and Xochimilco municipalities.
At a conference, the head of the SSC, Pablo Vázquez, reported that the uniformed officers completed seven arrest warrants against three women and four men, including “Faso”, who was in the state of Quintana Roo.
He explained that the uniformed officers followed up on the investigations, so with the information collected and in coordination with personnel from the National Intelligence Center, the Secretary of the Navy and the Attorney General’s Office of the state of Quintana Roo, they obtained the necessary test data. with which on April 16, a control judge released the arrest warrants.
Thanks to intelligence work, the authorities learned that the alleged leader of the criminal cell was with a man and a woman in the aforementioned state. Then, they established their mobility zone in the Puerto Juárez neighborhood, municipality of Benito Juárez, where they identified those possibly involved, by carrying out security tours on José López Portillo Avenue and 49th Street.
Due to the above, the police approached the accused, confirmed their identity and completed the court order against the two men, aged 42 and 31, as well as against the woman, aged 38, who were subsequently transferred to the City of Mexico, to be made available to the authority that requires them.
Upon arriving in the capital, the alleged perpetrators were taken to the North Men’s Preventive Prison, while the woman was transferred to the Santa Martha Acatitla Women’s Social Reintegration Center. According to Vázquez, Edgar Jesús “N” is related to the disappearance of a former soccer player that occurred in August 2023.
In addition, he pointed out that, in the city, with information obtained in investigation work, the elements located three more collaborators of said cell, two women, 38 and 32 years old, and a 38-year-old man, who were in the vicinity of the Del Gas neighborhood, Azcapotzalco mayor’s office.
As in the first case, the police corroborated their identity and proceeded to complete the arrest warrant against those involved, to be presented before the judicial authority of the aforementioned penitentiary centers.
The police chief added that, in a third action, the uniformed officers detained a 39-year-old man in Santa Úrsula Coapa, Coyoacán mayor’s office, from where he was also transferred to the North Men’s Preventive Prison in Mexico City. And he pointed out that they executed three search warrants in which they seized two properties in the Tláhuac and Iztapalapa municipalities, as they found 195 doses and three bags of bulk, crystal and powder cocaine.
Diego Rodríguez “el Kalusha” is an Auriazul youth player and played as a defender; He debuted with Pumas in the Copa MX on January 17, 2018 and on the top Mexican circuit he did so on August 3 of that same year. Between both tournaments he played two matches. He remained linked to the institution until the 2020 Guardianes Tournament, but playing in the Liga de Ascenso MX with Pumas Tabasco. Kalusha was arrested in August 2022 for being the alleged leader of a criminal cell dedicated to drug dealing and extortion in the Coyoacán, Tlalpan and Xochimilco municipalities, but he regained his freedom.
