Bono confirmed, in statements reported on Friday by the Spanish newspaper “Marca”, that he was not well in his last season with the Andalusian team, saying: “I was not well, it was not me.”

He added, “Last season I was suffering from family problems that I had to confront strongly, but I could not. I needed change for the sake of my mental health.”

He continued, “When I saw that I did not have the energy necessary to give everything I had to the club, I decided to leave. If I had stayed there, my level would have been affected.”

He continued, saying: “Because I love Seville, it was honest not to continue when I found that I could not perform at the level required of me. Everything they gave me was incredible, and I will treasure that forever. Love them forever.”

Bono has a contract with Al-Hilal Saudi Arabia that extends until the summer of 2026, and yesterday, Thursday, he won his first title with his team after achieving the Saudi Super Cup at the expense of Al-Ittihad in the Emirates.
