The opening ceremony of the 2024 Olympics will be held on Friday (26/7/2024) at 00.30 WIB. The participants will experience a different experience. athlete who followed it because this event held a parade not in the stadium like the opening ceremony of a multi-event event in general.
However, the opening ceremony of the 2024 Olympics will be held on a boat carrying the participating countries’ contingents. They will be taken across the Seine River, which divides the city of Paris.
The Indonesian contingent itself only brought 15 people consisting of athletes and officials in the ship’s group from the 29 athletes who qualified. One of the representatives of the Red and White Team who did not participate in the opening of Paris 2024 was Fajar/Rian.
The former world number one duo decided not to participate because they would compete the next day, Saturday (27/7/2024). Fajar/Rian felt a little regret because they would miss the beautiful and romantic atmosphere offered by the Seine River.
“We definitely want to participate in the opening of the Olympics. We want to experience the event, especially since the opening of the Olympics this year is being held on the Seine River which is so beautiful and romantic,” said Fajar as reported in the PBSI release, Friday (26/7/2024).
“But our schedule is already on Saturday, so we chose to focus on the first match. Hopefully, we can participate on another occasion,” he added.
Fajri – Fajar/Rian’s nickname – is included in Group C of the badminton sport at the 2024 Paris Olympics. They are competing with Satwiksairaj Rankireddy/Chirag Shetty (India), Lucas Corvee/Renan Labar (France) and Mark Lamsfuss/Marvin Seidel (Germany).
In the first match, Fajar/Rian met Lamsfuss/Seidel. The world’s seventh-ranked pair has a superior head-to-head record over their opponents with a score of 3-1.
