An Instagram user (Archive) named ajayvishwakarma1008 shared this video on April 18 and wrote, “Who thought this was a BJP rally. This time it will cross 400 #loksabhachunav2024.

To investigate this video, we searched the screenshots of this video on Google reverse images. We got this video from a TV 9 Uttar Pradesh episode of May 2023. Tweet Found in (Archive). It was also written, “Kanpur: During the road show of SP President Akhilesh Yadav, BJP workers raised slogans of Yogi-Modi, Akhilesh’s road show was being held in Kanpur.”
We got this video from an article of Navbharat Times dated 9th May 2023. Tweet Also found in (Archive). It was also written, “Yogi-Modi slogans raised in Akhilesh’s road show in Kanpur.”
According to the news of Navbharat Times of May 9, 2023, “The campaign for the second phase of UP municipal elections is at its peak on its last day. In Kanpur, BJP and SP campaigned in support of their respective mayor candidates. There was a close contest between BJP and SP during the election campaign. A strange atmosphere was created on Birhana Road in Kanpur when, in front, Satish Mahana was doing a road show for BJP candidate Pramila Pandey, while at the back, Akhilesh Yadav was doing a road show in support of SP candidate Vandana Vajpayee. The distance between the two was only 50 meters. During Akhilesh Yadav’s road show, slogans of Yogi-Modi Zindabad were also raised and BJP flag was shown to Akhilesh Yadav.
We talked to Dainik Jagran’s Kanpur reporter Rajeev Dwivedi about this matter. He confirmed that the video is from May 2023, when Akhilesh Yadav was doing a road show in support of SP candidate Vandana Vajpayee and ahead of him was BJP’s road show.
