After the announcement of giving special status to Seemandhra by the then UPA (United Progressive Alliance) government, Nitish Kumar had taken out a march and registered his protest. BJP could not succeed in getting a clear majority on its own in this election, but the NDA alliance was successful in getting a majority, in which the share of 12 and 16 seats of JDU and Telugu Desam is important.
