what is going viral
Facebook Page SOCIAL ANSAAR shared a picture on 12th July. An emotional story was also written along with this picture. In this story, it was claimed, “This is not a painting, this is a real scene, which has received the award for the best photo in the world. In the jungle, a group of leopards surrounded a deer and her 2 children. Then this mother thought… I can run away, but not my children. Then this mother surrendered herself to the leopards, and kept watching her children running away safely. Truly, a mother has no value.”

The photo with the fake story has been shared hundreds and thousands of times on various social media. I am getting hundreds and hundreds of messages where people are asking me if I am the “Depressed Photographer”. I have been tagged with the fake story in LinkedIn. This is weird for my career. We also found this photo on Alison Buttigieg’s website. Here we got details about this photo. The description with the photo read, “I witnessed this deer hunt in Kenya’s Maasai Mara in September 2013. Narsha, the mother cheetah, was teaching her cubs to kill the prey. However, they were a little slow on the uptake and they were playing with the helpless impala prey rather than killing it. Narsha, the mother cheetah, is holding the impala by the throat in all the photos. The young ones practice some skills, such as jumping and tripping, which they get right, but they do not seem to be able to effectively strangle the impala. What is unusual in this sequence of photos is how calm the impala is throughout the process. It is probably in shock and paralyzed with fear.”
