investigation
Vishwas News first used Google Open Search Tool to investigate the viral claim. We did not find any recent news from Google search, which could confirm that the Indian Army has received 2500 bulletproof Scorpios. Taking the investigation further, with the help of Google Lens tool, a search was done about the picture used in the viral post. We found this picture in a news uploaded on the English website of Republic Channel. In this news published on 30 October 2023, it was told that Jammu and Kashmir Police introduced hi-tech vehicles ‘Rakshak’ and ‘Shaurya’ in its fleet. Full news Here It can be read.
Vishwas News furthered the investigation and scanned the official Facebook page of the Media Center of Jammu and Kashmir Police. Here we found a news dated October 30, 2023. Post It was reported that in a flag off ceremony, the DGP dedicated 160 vehicles to the JK Police.
When Vishvas News scanned the viral picture, we saw Jammu and Kashmir Police clearly written on it. Apart from this, Dial 112 was also written. This made it clear that the viral picture is related to the police and not the Indian Army.
Vishwas News further investigated and contacted the spokesperson of the Indian Army. He confirmed to us that the viral picture is not of an Indian Army vehicle. The viral claim is fake.
Conclusion: Vishvas News investigated and found the viral post to be misleading. Last year, new vehicles were added to the fleet of Jammu and Kashmir Police. The same picture is being made viral with a misleading claim linking it to the Indian Army.
