A video of Rakesh Tikait chanting ‘Allah-hu-Akbar’ during the Kisan Mahapanchayat held in Muzaffarnagar, western Uttar Pradesh during the 2021 farmers’ protest demanding the repeal of the controversial farm laws is being shared with a misleading claim. During his address, Tikait had chanted ‘Har Har Mahadev’ along with ‘Allah-hu-Akbar’, but only that part of his speech in which he can be heard and seen saying only ‘Allah-hu-Akbar’ is being shared on social media with the intention of spreading misinformation.

New Delhi (Viswas News). Users are sharing a video clip of farmer leader Rakesh Tikait on various social media platforms. It is being claimed that he raised slogans of ‘Allah-hu-Akbar’ while addressing a program. He can also be heard saying so in the viral video.

Vishvas News found this claim to be false in its investigation. The video going viral is of the Kisan Mahapanchayat held in Muzaffarnagar, western Uttar Pradesh in 2021, while addressing which Tikait also chanted ‘Har-Har Mahadev’ along with ‘Allah-hu-Akbar’. However, only that part of his speech is being made viral on social media, in which he can be heard saying ‘Allah-hu-Akbar’.

What is viral?

Social media user ‘Vishal Dhawan’ shared the viral video Clip (Archive Link) wrote, “This (BJP) government will do the work of getting riots done, Allah Hu Akbar.” – Alleged Farmer, Rakesh Tikait.”

Many other social media users have shared this video with similar and identical claims.

The viral video contains a 13-second clip in which Rakesh Tikait can be seen and heard chanting ‘Allah-hu-Akbar’.

On reverse image searching the key frames of the viral video, we found a photo uploaded on September 5, 2021 from the verified Facebook page of Rakesh Tikait. Video We found a video of the address to the Mahapanchayat in Muzaffarnagar. In this video of about 14 minutes, at the 11.30 minute frame, we found the entire statement, which is being shared out of context with a misleading claim.

Addressing the Mahapanchayat, Tikait said, “….If such governments are in the country, they will work to cause riots. Slogans were raised earlier too, when Tikait sahab was there….Allah-hu-Akbar slogans were raised. Har-Har Mahadev and Allah-hu-Akbar slogans were raised from this land. These slogans will always be raised…these slogans will always be raised. There will be no riots here. They will work to break…we will work to unite.”

The entire broadcast of this Kisan Mahapanchayat has also been uploaded on the official YouTube channel of Rakesh Tikait, in which he can be heard giving the above address.

This video had gone viral on social media earlier as well, when farmers were protesting demanding the withdrawal of the controversial agricultural laws. Vishvas News had then fact-checked this clip, whose fact check report can be read here.

At that time, we contacted Manish Kumar, Muzaffarnagar in-charge of our associate Dainik Jagran, regarding this video. He said, “The viral post is a part of Rakesh Tikait’s speech, which is being deliberately presented out of context. He had also raised slogans of Har-Har Mahadev along with Allah-hu-Akbar from the stage.”
