In the picture, the railway tracks can be seen completely submerged in water. Many social media users are sharing this picture saying that it is recent.
Vishwas News investigated the viral post. The viral picture proved to be six years old. In the year 2018, due to heavy rains in Mumbai, the tracks of many local stations were submerged in water. A picture from that time is now being made viral in the year 2024, spreading confusion.

Vishwas News first used Google Lens tool to find out the truth of the viral picture. We found the oldest picture on Aaj Tak’s website. It was used in a news published on 9 July 2018. The news stated that local trains had come to a halt due to heavy rains in Mumbai. Railway tracks were flooded due to heavy rains in Nalasopar here. Vishwas News furthered the investigation and contacted senior Mumbai journalist Sarvesh Mishra. He told that the viral picture is very old.
This time too, heavy rains were witnessed in many districts of Maharashtra including Mumbai. The news related to this can be seen below.
At the end of the investigation, the account of Facebook user Mmeraj Qureshi was checked. Social scanning revealed that the user is followed by more than 10 thousand people. No more information was found about this account.
Conclusion: Vishvas News investigated and found that the viral picture was old. However, this time too, incidents of railway tracks getting submerged in Mumbai have been reported due to heavy rains.
