Fact Check: Fake Statement Circulates Under Madhavrao Sadashiv Golwalkar Name on State Property and Equality

There is no mention of any statement in the book “We or Our Nationhood Defined” written by Madhavrao Sadashiv Golwalkar about handing over the ownership of the property and resources of the states to a select few capitalists and about Dalits and Muslims living in slavery in exchange for being given the right to equality. The infographics containing these statements going viral in the name of Golwalkar are fake and are being shared with the intention of spreading propaganda.

Many users have shared an infographic on the WhatsApp tipline number of Vishvas News, in which an alleged statement of the second Sarsanghchalak of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Madhavrao Sadashiv Golwalkar is being shared along with his picture. It is being claimed that he has mentioned this statement in his book ‘we and our nationhood identified’. The viral statement mentions handing over the state property, land of the states and other resources including forests to some trusted wealthy people. At the same time, the second statement is against the right to equality.

Vishvas News in its investigation found it to be false and propaganda. Firstly, the person who is making such a claim by referring to the book has not written any such book and secondly, the name of the book written by him is “We or Our Nationhood Defined” and in this book, he has not mentioned any such statement.

Infographics sent to Vishvas News tipline number, which mentions a fake quote attributed to Madhavrao Sadashiv Golwalkar.

Many others on different social media platforms Users has shared this infographic with similar and identical claims.

In the viral graphics, both the alleged statements have been mentioned quoting Golwalkar’s book “we and our nationhood identified”.

The first statement can be read like this, “Sadashiv Rao Golwalkar has clearly written in his book ‘We and our nationhood identified’. Whenever you get power, first of all hand over the wealth of the government, the land of the states and the forests to your two-three trusted rich people. Make 95% of the people beggars, after that you will not lose power for seven lives.”

In the viral graphics, the basis of these statements is said to be the book “We and our nationhood identified”, which is wrong. Golwalkar has not written any book by this name. The name of the book written by him is “We or Our Nationhood defined” and it is published digitally. Available Is.

To verify the viral statement, we checked it and did not find any such statement anywhere. Golwalkar has not mentioned this statement in any context directly or indirectly in his book.

We found his views on the economy on golwalkarguruji.org, in which he talks about the surplus value of labour being the property of the nation, the ownership of each industry being determined by the national economy, and “national commitment” replacing “collective bargaining”.

That means the statement going viral in his name regarding ownership rights on state property and resources is fake and fabricated.

The second statement says, “I am ready to be a slave to the British all my life, but I don’t want freedom that gives equal rights to Dalits, backward classes and Muslims. Golwalkar Guruji 1940.”

This statement is anti-Dalit and anti-Muslim in nature, but the word Muslim has been mentioned only twice in his book, in which the first reference is in the context of the Mughals and the second reference is in the context of Afghanistan.

That means this statement is also fake and fabricated. In the search we found an article from ‘The Times of India’ dated 10 July 2023. Report In which it is mentioned that a case has been registered in Guna, Madhya Pradesh against senior Congress leader Digvijay Singh for sharing this infographics.

It is worth noting that senior Congress leader Digvijay Singh has shared this graphics with his ex Handle had targeted the RSS by sharing it, on which the All India Publicity Chief of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, Sunil Ambekar, reacted and called it fake.

Reply given by RSS’s All India Publicity Chief Sunil Ambekar on Digvijay Singh’s tweet, in which he called the viral statement in the name of Golvalar as fake.

Through a simple keyword search, we did not find any credible reference or context where any such statement is mentioned in Golwalkar’s book “We Or Our Nationhood Defined”.

Vishvas News contacted former Prant Prachar Pramukh Rajiv Tuli regarding this graphic. He said, “This is an attempt to spread propaganda against the Sangh.” Tuli said, “In this graphic, Guruji’s statement is mentioned in the book “We or Our Nationhood Identified”, but he has not written any such book. The name of his book is “We Or Our Nationhood Defined” and there is no mention of any such statement in it.” He said that the viral graphic has been prepared with fabricated and fake statements.

Conclusion: The book “We or Our Nationhood Defined” written by Madhavrao Sadashiv Golwalkar does not mention any statement like handing over the ownership of the property and resources of the states to a select few capitalists and living in slavery in exchange for giving equal rights to Dalits and Muslims. The infographics containing these statements going viral in the name of Golwalkar are fake, which are being shared with the intention of propaganda.
