Fact Check: CM Yogi Emotional Tribute to Pulwama Martyrs Mislinked to BJP UP Lok Sabha Results

The viral video with the claim that Yogi Adityanath got emotional after the poor performance of BJP in Uttar Pradesh is from around 2019, when he got emotional while answering a question about the Pulwama terror attack during an event. This old video is being shared linking it to the poor performance of BJP in the Uttar Pradesh Lok Sabha elections.

New Delhi (Viswas News). After the poor performance of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Uttar Pradesh in the Lok Sabha elections 24, a video clip of the state Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is going viral on social media, in which he can be seen getting emotional. It is being claimed that he got emotional after the party’s poor performance in the state.

Vishvas News found it to be false in its investigation. The video going viral is from after the terrorist attack in Pulwama, when Yogi became emotional while talking about the incident. This video, which is about five years old, is being shared by linking it to the poor performance of BJP in Uttar Pradesh in the Lok Sabha elections.

What is viral?

Social media user ‘thehindu_voice12’ shared the viral post Video id=’action_msg_1373’> Link) while sharing it, he wrote, “The one who ordered firing on Ram devotees won and the one who got Ram temple built lost.”

In the viral video, Yogi Adityanath is seen getting emotional and the figures of the results of Uttar Pradesh Lok Sabha elections are written in this clip.

To find the original source, we did a reverse image search of the key frames of this video clip. In the search, we found this video uploaded on the official YouTube channel of ‘One India News’, in which the viral visual can be seen in frames 1.31/3.18 to 2.02/3.18.

This incident is also mentioned in many other reports, when Yogi became emotional while talking about the Pulwama terror attack.

The video clip that is going viral is not after the results of Lok Sabha elections 24 nor is it related to any election.

We contacted Uttar Pradesh BJP spokesperson Harischandra Srivastava regarding the viral video clip. He confirmed that this is an old video and has nothing to do with the election results.

According to the data available on the Election Commission’s website, out of the total 80 Lok Sabha seats in Uttar Pradesh, BJP has won only 33 seats, while Samajwadi Party (SP) has won 37 seats. Congress has won six seats, Rashtriya Lok Dal has won two seats, Azad Samaj Party (Kanshi Ram) has won one seat and Apna Dal (Sonelal) has won one seat.

It is noteworthy that in the last Lok Sabha elections, BJP had got a total of 62 seats in Uttar Pradesh, while NDA had got 64 seats.
