Facing the long Eid holiday in 2024, here’s how Pertamina strengthens refinery security

JAKARTA – In order to face the long holiday Idulfitri 1445 H , PT Pertamina International Refinery (PT KPI) tighten security factory and is committed to ensuring safe fuel production and supply. This was illustrated at the Eid Al-Fitr Security Preparation Call which was held jointly with the TNI and Dumai Police, at the Security Field, Wednesday (4/4).

PT KPI Unit Dumai Physical of Security Supervisor, R. Cepih HN, who led this preparatory rally, said that this joint rally was carried out as a coordination step for internal and external parties regarding security strategies ahead of and after Idul Fitri 1445 H.

“The level of security and vigilance will be deployed 24 hours a day. In addition, we will increase the level of intelligence to monitor and detect early things deemed necessary. Furthermore, we will optimize security measures in accordance with the SOP,” explained R. Cepih HN in his official statement, Monday (8/4/2024).

He also added that this step was also an effort to ensure that all security preparations had been carried out properly so that nothing would disrupt the refinery’s operations, one of which was fireworks on takbiran night.

Apart from that, PT KPI Dumai Unit is also preparing other security measures such as setting up Perimeter CCTV at more than 200 points, patrol cars, security posts, and even speedboats. Security cooperation links have also been established with the TNI, Polri, Dumai Damkar, and BPBD Idul Fitri 1445 H.

Separately, the Area Manager for Communication, Relations, & CSR of PT KPI Dumai Unit, Agustiawan, said that during the holiday period and collective leave, Plant Patrols would still be carried out by the management team and Section Head to ensure that safety aspects were still implemented properly.

“During the holiday period and Idul Fitri holidays, the Plant Patrol and Manager on Duty will be on standby to supervise, direct and make strategic decisions on refinery operations. This aims to ensure operational activities run optimally and National Fuel needs are met in accordance with production targets that has been determined,” he said.

Agustiawan also said that his party is committed to maintaining and guaranteeing fuel production and supply during the Eid al-Fitr 1445 H period.
