Fabio Quartararo complained about the many problems he faced with the M1-2024 motorbike. The Monster Energy Yamaha racer said that the iron horse he was riding was actually capable of competing, but there were still several small problems that needed to be addressed in order to be able to perform optimally.

“Actually, in my opinion, we don’t have one big problem, but a lot of small problems. It’s a little bit of everything. Rear grip, electronics, aerodynamics, a combination of things,” explained the champion MotoGP 2021 is quoted from Speedweek, Tuesday (26/3/2024).

“We collected good data today and further testing will help us further. Of course the problem is also because we only have two motorbikes on the track,” he continued.

At the Portuguese MotoGP, last weekend. Quartararo managed to enter Qualification 2 (Q2) to secure a start from ninth place at the 2024 Portugal MotoGP last weekend. Then, he was able to finish in ninth position in the sprint with a difference of 7.5 seconds from Maverick Vinales.

In the main race, Quartararo successfully finished the race at the Algarve Circuit in seventh position. However, he was 20 seconds away from Jorge Martin, who emerged as the winner. The reason is, he was helped by the fall of three racers who were in the front row in the last laps, namely, Francesco Bagnaia, Marc Marquez and Vinales.

However, this result was much better than what he got in the opening series at the 2024 Qatar MotoGP. At that time, he was only able to cross the finish line in 11th position in the sprint and then 12th in the long race.

However, it turns out that Quartararo hopes to finish even better in Portugal. Because the French rider was not happy with the gap being too big in the main race because in the sprint he was able to compete more closely with the leading racers.

“Seventh place sounds better than it actually is. But to be honest, I expected more. Things went well in yesterday’s sprint and I saw myself getting closer to the guys in front of me today. That’s why I’m not too happy with the gap big,” said Quartararo.
