Fabio Silva (21) continues his career at Scottish Rangers. The former Anderlecht player did not have enough time in England’s Wolverhampton and therefore moves to Rangers on loan. This gives Philippe Clement a solid option in attack.
It’s not Fabio Silva’s season yet. The Portuguese former Anderlecht striker is languishing longer than he would like on the English bench of Wolverhampton. Silva has made just eight appearances for the Premier League club. He still couldn’t score.
To revive his career, Philippe Clement’s Rangers have now thrown him a lifeline. The transfer to the top Scottish club has just been made official by the top Scottish club. The Rangers are leasing Silva for half a season, with no option to buy. The presence of Philippe Clement in particular would have been decisive.
“Everyone knows I had other options and other clubs, but when I saw the Rangers option I was very happy,” Silva told the club website. “It was immediately my first choice because I want to win titles, play for big clubs, feel the pressure and play in big leagues, so I want to play in front of the fans and play with my teammates. This first half of the season didn’t go the way I wanted at Wolves, but now that I have this opportunity I want to give my best.”
“I tried to be here as soon as possible because I think it’s important to see the tactics, understand the dynamics of the team and what the coach wants from me.”

Fabio Silva has been known for years as a great talent. A few years ago, Wolverhampton paid at least forty million euros for the Portuguese. But in England Silva could never live up to high expectations. Loans to Anderlecht and PSV seemed to give the striker the confidence to shine at Wolves. But things went differently.
At Rangers, Silva will be a competitor to Cyriel Dessers (formerly KRC Genk).
