– We are working on start-up plans, but this depends on us obtaining satisfactory contracts with customers. We have to achieve profitability, says CEO Erik Løkke-Øwre of Norsun in Bergens Tidende.
The reason why the factory temporarily stopped production is the dramatic drop in prices in Europe.
Import restrictions in the USA mean that cheaper solar modules from China are sold in Europe and the market is therefore flooded with modules that few can compete with.
Twelve employees are still working at the factory and Norsun is now working further to obtain funding through support programs such as Enova, Siva and Innovation Norway.
