The Single Window Export Consortium confirmed that the total shipments registered in the first four months of 2024 under the certificate of origin reached a total of USD 2,790 million, about USD 380 million more than what was verified in the same period last year.


Global exports for the first four months of the year were made official by the General Directorate of the Single Window Export System (DGVUE), dependent on the Ministry of Industry and Commerce.

The report indicates that the certificates of origin issued for exports reached a total of USD 2,790 million at the end of April, which represents 15.24% more than what was registered in the same period of 2023, when a total of USD 2,422 was achieved. millions.

In nominal terms, a rebound of USD 368 million is observed, contrasting the first quarter of last year.

Exports to several countries and continents

The Consortium highlights that only in the fourth month of 2024 – April – 1,226,617 tons were sent to the international market under the certificate of origin, worth USD 774 million.

Among the main export destination countries were Brazil, for an amount of USD 244 million, followed by Argentina, for a total of USD 223 million, and Chile, with USD 95 million, CONVUE reports.

Likewise, there are Peru, for a total of USD 22 million; India, USD 20 million and the United States, for USD 14 million. While to a lesser extent Poland, Uruguay, Russia and Taiwan are located, for values ​​ranging between USD 14 and 9 million.

When broken down by continent, it stands out that, according to the certificate of origin, 1 million tons were sent to America, worth USD 643 million. While to Asia, it was for USD 64 million, some 93,362 tons, and to Europe, more than 52,000 tons, worth USD 59 million dollars.

To Africa and Oceania, registered exports were between USD 6 million and USD 344 thousand, respectively, according to the certificate of origin.

The Certificate of Origin is a document by which the final producer, or, where applicable, the exporter, declares under oath that the merchandise to be exported complies with the requirements established by the rules of origin for its production.

This document gives a tariff benefit in the export destination country and/or allows you to take advantage of the existing import quota in the destination country.

The Single Window Export Consortium (CONVUE) was born in 2013, through an agreement with the Ministry of Industry and Commerce (MIC), which constitutes a Public-Private participation event of transcendental importance. The Single Export Window (VUE) is an indispensable tool for the country, for export processes, which is why its suspension or interruption means losses for both the private and public sectors.

On the part of the private sector, the Consortium is made up of the Paraguayan Chamber of Exporters and Marketers of Cereals and Oilseeds (CAPECO), the Chamber of Exporters (CAPEX) and the Center of Customs Brokers of Paraguay (CDAP), with the objective to provide sustainability and scalability to the Exporter’s Single Window (VUE).
