From July 11 to August 16, the exhibition “Paintings, little paintings, and other converted oil paintings” by the prominent national artist Piero Montebruno can be visited at the D21 gallery.

The exhibition brings together paintings by the poet Montebruno, dating from 1994 to 1996. Montebruno, a layman and without formal studies, has a self-taught artistic education.

Among the pieces that will be exhibited are Tree II, I Don’t Give a Cucumber (Still Life to the Dying Society), Maruri Twilight, Wave in Bird Art, Blacko and White and Burning Man.

The exhibition will also be available on the web platform www.d21.cl to be visited remotely in 360º.

About the artist

Piero Montebruno (Santiago, 1977) trained in medicine at the University of Chile, and with postgraduate studies in Economics and Economic Geography. He is currently unemployed and lives in Cerro Artillería in Valparaíso. He has published Binladenian Poems (2021) by D21 and Pequeño Dios Editores, a long poem about the 9/11 attacks on the Twin Towers, Wachit@ (test poetry) (2011), a book of visual, experimental and performative poetry containing photographs by Paz Errázuriz and Álvaro Hoppe and Songs for a rock band (early poetry 1999-2003) (2014) by Pequeño Dios Editores. He was a war correspondent for the magazine “The Clinic”. One of her co-authored articles on abortion at the UP was selected as the Official Selection for the CEMEX-FNPI New Journalism Award in 2003. Her book Dionysus/Ger won the Alerce Mahfúd Massís Award from the Chilean Writers’ Society in 2000.
