Exhibition of 100 lacquer works by artist Van Chien

The exhibition “Memories and experiences: 100 works of art from artist Van Chien” gives viewers many emotions when looking at colorful and artistically expressive paintings.

On April 20, exhibition Memories and experiences: 100 works of art from artist Van Chien will be held with 100 works with many themes and colors in the artistic expressions of artist Van Chien.

From classic lacquer paintings to modern oil paintings, each painting tells a separate story, demonstrating the artist’s talent and rich imagination.

Designer and MC Huyen Chau – daughter of artist Van Chien – is the one who organized the exhibition for her father. She wishes to bring to the audience a profound feeling about the value of contemporary art, contributing to honoring her father’s legacy.

“Dad’s paintings always remind me of beautiful memories and emotions of the whole family every time I look at them. Even though that space may be cramped or messy, it is a whole world where I can soar.” in the magical story. Dad’s thoughts and experiences are recreated in each drawing,” MC Huyen Chau shared.

Artist Van Chien was born in 1951, graduated from Vietnam University of Fine Arts in 1984. He is famous for his lacquer paintings because of his creativity on eggshells, depicting a variety of subjects, from Hanoi’s old streets, highland scenery to communal houses, pagodas, shrines…

His works have left an impression on art lovers such as: My house, Grandfather’s hometown, Bac Giang landscape, Bao Loc temple in Nam Dinh, Tay Tuu village communal house, Northwest in March…

He participated in national art exhibitions, bringing diversity and innovation in researching painting styles in the fine arts industry, contributing to enriching the country’s cultural picture.

He also displayed many works in international exhibitions in the US, Japan, Germany, Norway… His paintings are not only a cultural bridge but also a colorful language of communication between peoples. tribe and nation.

In his works, the arrangement of colors is not only technical but also represents philosophy, recreating the depth of the human soul. Blue and yellow often appear, bringing meanings of peace, connection to the universe, hope and optimism.
