Export of garments made by a large part of our export sector. Has the port consideration that our competitors are growing in internationally made garments? Now that we do not have business, there is no headache about increasing the tariff of the port.- BGMEA Chittagong Director Rakibul Alam Chowdhury

He said, ‘The export of garments made by a large part of our export sector. Has the port consideration that our competitors are growing in internationally made garments? Now that we do not have business, there is no headache about increasing the tariff of the port. ‘

He feared that the negative impact on increasing the port tariff in the garment sector could have been in January next year. He said, ‘From January, our clothing sector will face a new challenge. Because India will not sit in the way the United States has imposed tariffs on India. Their (India) traders are raising their attention to Europe. We have a big business in Europe in the garment sector. If the Bayers are India, our export sector will be at more risky. ‘

“We have given a letter to the port to revisit the announced tariff,” he said. Now the port should consider this tariff to keep the economy of Bangladesh dynamic. If the garment sector is damaged, the entire economy of the country will be damaged. ‘
