Baluchar area of Kodalpur union of Gosairhat upazila of Shariatpur is a remote grazing area. There was no good educational institution for the students of this region. Many children drop out of school at an early age. Keeping these students in mind, an educational institution named ‘Excellent Ideal School’ was built in the Char area a century ago. Currently the school has become a beacon of education among the students of Char area.
On Sunday (March 10) afternoon, a program was organized to mark the one-year anniversary of the institution in Baluchar area of Kodalpur Union of the upazila. Teachers, parents and students of the institution participated in it.
Shariatpur Superintendent of Police Mahbubul Alam was present as the chief guest on the occasion. Principal of Alhaj Safura Begum Women’s College Daulat Ahmed Chowdhury was the main discussant.
Poet and writer Shyamsandar Debnath, Gosairhat Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Puspen Debnath, Upazila Primary Education Officer Lutfar Rahman, Kodalpur UP Chairman Mizanur Rahman and others were present as guests.
Naqib Mukshi, director of Excellent Ideal School, gave the welcome address. The discussion meeting was presided over by the school’s chief advisor Ali Ziad Hossain. Children enthralled the guests by presenting music, dance and recitation.
Superintendent of Police Mahbubul Alam said in his speech, spreading education in Char area is a difficult task. People here live a busy and struggling life in pursuit of livelihood. Can’t focus on educating children due to various limitations. In such a reality, the work that Excellent Ideal School has been doing for a decade is truly commendable.
Principal Daulat Ahmed Chowdhury said that this school has impressed us by educating children through individual initiative. We have the idea and belief that the children of Char can also learn and build a better life.
Director of the school poet Naqib Mukshi said, we are running the school with the aim of overall development of the young children. I dream that in every village of my Bengal, such a banyan tree will be built in the region, whose education will make the children of today become the children of tomorrow.
