Frank Pugliano, a World War II veteran, is not only known for his heroic service in the war, but also for his incredible longevity and vitality at 103 years old.
Born in Italy and emigrated to the United States at the age of six, the former military man has surprised many by sharing his “golden rule” for living more than a century.
After graduating from Penn Hills High School in 1942, Frank Pugliano enlisted in the US Army and served for three years in World War II.
During her service, she participated in a dangerous convoy mission to Luzon, in the Philippines, where she survived a Japanese torpedo attack.
Once retired from the military, Frank Pugliano continued working until he was 98, performing maintenance tasks at High View Acres, a senior living community.
On June 6, Frank Pugliano celebrated his 103rd birthday at Boyce Park, outside of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Frank Pugliano shared in an interview that he still mows the grass at his house and does household chores. Staying active and busy seems to be one of the main keys to your longevity. Additionally, he attributes his longevity to a combination of factors, which he calls his “golden rule”:
“The doctor told me: ‘Do what you’re doing,'” said Frank Pugliano about his excellent health, since at 103 years old, he only suffers from some knee problems and assures that he eats what he wants.
Frank Pugliano’s “golden rule” is simple but powerful: stay active, enjoy what you love, and nourish body and spirit with good habits and a positive attitude. His life is a shining example of how to live fully each day, regardless of age.
