Evrard returns to Chelsea after hamstring surgery: “Hard”

Nicky Evrard sees his loan at Brighton & Hove Albion end sooner than expected. The Fiamme Rosse goalkeeper needs to recover after hamstring surgery and for this reason he returns to Chelsea. “Difficult, physically and mentally,” Evrard wrote on his social media following the surgery.

With a photo with crutches in the hospital corridor, Evrard announced yesterday that she had undergone surgery. “Everything went well,” she said. Last month, the 28-year-old goalkeeper withdrew during the international break due to a hamstring injury

His rehabilitation will take place at Chelsea. Due to the injury, he will return to his parent club sooner than expected. Brighton & Hove Albion, the club that rented her from the Blues this summer, have decided to terminate her loan contract after half a season.

“We would like to thank Nicky for her contribution since joining the club this summer and wish her all the best in her recovery and full fitness,” chief executive Zoe Johnson said on the team’s website. In the end Evrard played just three games for Brighton.

Last summer, the 2022 Golden Boot swapped Oud-Heverlee Leuven for Chelsea. For now the transition to the Premier League is not going smoothly.

“It’s tough, physically and mentally. But I’ll be back soon,” she concluded her Instagram post.
