Event to support the small and medium enterprises of Epirus

The Cooperative Bank of Epirus, having as a strategic priority the support of the investment plans of local entrepreneurship, organizes an event entitled “Strengthening the access of small and medium enterprises to sources of financing”. The event will take place on Monday, July 1 at 6:30 p.m at the “Dimitris Hatzis” Cultural Center in Ioannina and it will be open to the public who wishes to attend her, while will also be broadcast via live streaming.

This is the first event of the platform Epirusgrowtha platform created by the Bank of Epirus with the aim of highlighting issues related to the development of businesses in Epirus.

The announcement regarding the organization of the event was made in the context of a Press Conference held today, Thursday, July 27, by representatives of Epirus Bank at the Bank’s administration building in Ioannina.

The Press Conference started with his welcome Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Cooperative Bank of Epirus, Mr. Vassilis Koliouwho reported: «The financing of SMEs is an important issue that needs to be recognized and addressed both in our region and nationwide. Every day we hear from our clients, from our partners, the problems and difficulties they face in their daily operation and financing with new funds for their businesses. At Epirus Bank, our local Bank, we listen to their concerns and are here to support them both in terms of financing and consulting. We stand alongside the local business community to offer Epirus entrepreneurs everything they need to grow their business and innovate.”

Then, the floor was taken by Mr. Ioannis Vougioukas, CEO of Epirus Cooperative Bank, who stated: “There is a deficit of bank financing to SMEs, especially in the region. I believe that the key point for increasing financial flows to the real economy is the channeling by the Banks of more low-interest loans to small and medium-sized enterprises, through the Recovery Fund and the Hellenic Development Bank.”

The Press Conference ended with his placement Mr. Vassilis Tsoukanelis, Executive Director of the Cooperative Bank of Epiruswho said about it: “The Bank of Epirus supports SMEs in practice. It participates in all the financial programs of the ETA, achieving a greater absorption of funds in proportion to its size, which it channels to local businesses.”

As part of the event, entrepreneurs, representatives of the local community and the Chambers of the Prefectures of Epirus will participate in two discussion panels with the main focus on the challenges and prospects of local entrepreneurship in the modern era, as well as the role that local bodies can play to her.

Of particular importance is the presentation of the ETA’s financial programs which will be made by Ms. Ismini Papakyrillou and executives of the Hellenic Development Bank. The financial tools of the EBA come to cover the increased financing needs of small and medium enterprises.

The first discussion panel entitled “Entrepreneurship in Epirus: Challenges and prospects” and moderated by the journalist Apostolis Tzeleta, will be attended by Argyris Vangelis, Chairman of the Board of Directors of AES Cooperative Winery of Epirus S.A. – ZOINOS WINERY, Dimitriou Andreas, President of the Board of Agricultural Poultry Cooperative of Ioannina PINDOS, Tatsis Christos, President of OEVE N. of Ioannina, Member of the Board of GSEVEE, Member of the Board of the Chamber of Ioannina, Ioannou Christos, Hotel Manager, Member of the Board of Directors of the Hotel Chamber of Greece (XEE), Koutlas Tassos, Deputy VP of digital solutions Europe at FFW, Founder of the C-Ioannina community and Liouris Theoharis, President of the General Agricultural Cooperative of Ioannina – UNION of farmers.

The second discussion panel entitled “The role of Chambers in the new era of small and medium enterprises” and moderated by journalist Vangelis Pichas, will begin with an introduction by Mr. Vassilis Tsoukanelis, Executive Director of Epirus Bank. Efthymios (Makis) Chrysostomou, President of the Chamber of Ioannina, Yannis Golomazos, President of the Chamber of Artas, Yannis Bouris, President of the Chamber of Preveza and Andreas Stavrou, Secretary General of the Chamber of Thesprotia, will participate in the discussion.
