Eti Krom Miners to Meet with Employer

(ELAZIG) – On the 15th day of the strike launched by miners working at Eti Krom in the Alacakaya district of Elazığ due to their demands not being met, the employer decided to sit down with worker representatives to end the strike as a result of the meetings held by the CHP delegation. The workers will decide whether to continue the strike or not according to the results of the meeting to be held in Istanbul tomorrow.

While the strike initiated by over 350 mineworkers working at Eti Krom in the Alacakaya district continues; a CHP delegation paid a support visit to the workers on Sunday and met with employer representatives. It was learned that the company management, who met with the delegation headed by CHP Deputy Chairman Deniz Yavuzyılmaz, decided to meet with the worker representatives. A five-person delegation representing the mineworkers will meet with the employer Yüksel Yıldırım in Istanbul tomorrow. YRP Alacakaya Mayor Zafer Altınışık, who has supported the workers since the day the strike began, said, “Worker friends will meet with the employer and the necessary results will be reached. Five workers’ representatives, one from each unit, will meet with the employer in Istanbul and the meeting will be held today. They pay the workers for their labor, and they have to.”

Altınışık, who attended the meeting of the CHP delegation with the employer representatives, said that they will be with the workers until their demands are accepted.
