Erlan Karin met with leaders of Mazhilis factions

State Councilor Erlan Karin held a meeting with the leaders of six factions of political parties in the Mazhilis, Liter.kz reports.

At the meeting were the head of the AMANAT party faction Elnur Beisenbaev, the head of the NDPP “Auyl” faction Serik Egizbaev, the head of the Respublica party faction Aidarbek Khojanazarov, the head of the Ak Zhol DPK faction Azat Peruashev, the head of the PPK faction Magerram Maharramov, the head of the NSDP faction Askhat Rakhimzhanov, as well as Head of the Presidential Representative Office in Parliament Amirbek Ospanbekov.

The State Counselor emphasized that the practical implementation of the president’s initiatives voiced at the meeting of the National Kurultai requires legislative support and the active assistance of the deputy corps.

First of all, we are talking about legislative strengthening of responsibility for drug production, gambling addiction, vandalism, domestic violence, as well as amendments to the legislation on state awards, onomastics, archaeological activities and a number of other laws. Bills on onomastics, combating drug addiction, and vandalism are being considered by the Mazhilis, and the law to combat domestic violence has already been adopted by the Mazhilis and transferred to the Senate, they said press service of the head of state.

The meeting participants emphasized that vandalism is not only the desecration of monuments and natural objects, but also damage to property in public places. The deputies spoke in favor of increasing the inevitability of punishment for acts of vandalism and other domestic offenses.

At the end of January, senators already proposed tightening legislation against vandalism. Deputies called vandalism an epidemic.
