Enthusiasts convert Ford trucks into brutal pickups, their monsters are almost scary on the road

American pickups are already giants by European standards in their factory forms, but for some even this is not enough. When you make such a car from a Ford F-650, you get brutality with 325 liter tanks. Furthermore, when driving silently, it consumes 33 liters of diesel per 100 km.

Under the name F-Series, most of us immediately imagine the Ford F-150. Besides it, however, there are other variants such as F-250, F-350, F-450, F-550 or F-600. Most of them are offered in pick-up form, but some versions can also be purchased with a bare chassis behind the cab. Also, of course, it also offers the F-650 and F-750, but they go their own way. Although they can be purchased as a mobile chassis with engine and cab, in most cases dump trucks are required.

Chris Walker and George Stickler were among the buyers of the F-350 at the same time. However, they gradually stopped having to provide a replacement every three years, because the original car simply no longer met their needs. And what’s more, it seemed to be too dysfunctional. In 2001 the former pilots therefore decided to focus on the F-650 model. However, upon leaving the dealership, they decided that factory specs would not be a stepping stone. And they didn’t just stick to words, they also took action.

The F-650 then received the bodywork of the F-350 version, complete with custom exhausts behind the cab facing up or custom bumpers. But obviously the change was much more. When Chris and George finished their creation, they were immediately contacted by an interested party, saying that he would be picking up a pickup that could not be ordered from the factory. The two enthusiasts thus started a joint business, which they still work on today. About 50 such pickups are produced every year for basketball players and members of royal families.

Thomas and James of Throttle House were now taking a ride with one of these monsters. They clearly demonstrate in a relatively long video that the modified pick-up is not intended for the roads of the old continent at all. In the case of larger configurations, they can exceed 10 meters in length. It is also over 2 meters wide and in case of height it climbs up to 2.5 meters above the ground. So you won’t drive it in underground garages, any McDrive will be a problem.

In addition, it is necessary to take into account such a huge thirst that the average Czech could manage to earn only on fuel, even assuming that Chris and George manage to mainly stuff a 6.7-liter turbodiesel under the hood. It produces a not-so-dizzying 304 horsepower and 1,020 lb-ft of torque, factory values. After all, Ford also offers this unit with 274 or 335 horsepower, but power alone is not the reason for the high consumption – it weighs at least 11.8 tons.

The car now has two 325-liter tanks, which at first glance seem as monstrous as the pickup itself. But the modified F-650 SuperTruck manages to squeeze them out in the blink of an eye, as the standard version actually consumes around 33 liters per 100 kilometers. You can’t really count on huge interest on this side of the Atlantic. Among other things, also because at least 300 thousand dollars must be removed from the wallet, that is, approximately 6.7 million crowns.

The F-650 already looks massive at its core, but Southeast Utilities, owned by Chris Walker and George Stickler, makes it a monster of a much higher class. Illustration photo: Ford
