English Premier League: Liverpool, burdened by injuries, faces Luton to maintain the lead

England – Leader Liverpool will open the 26th round of the English Football League early today, Wednesday, against its guest, Luton Town, due to the Reds’ commitment to face Chelsea in the League Cup final on Sunday.

Liverpool is seeking to take advantage of the early match to maintain the lead it holds by two points against Arsenal, and before playing Wednesday it may find itself one point away from defending champion Manchester City, who will face Brentford on Tuesday evening in a postponed match from the 18th round.

Although the match is easy on paper against Luton, who are in 18th place and have not achieved a win in their last three matches, German coach Jurgen Klopp’s team suffers from several absences that worry them before facing Luton tomorrow and Chelsea next Sunday.

The Reds lost the efforts of Curtis Jones, Portuguese Diogo Jota, and Uruguayan Darwin Nunes in the first half of the last match, in which they beat Brentford 4-1, due to injury.

The British newspaper “The Guardian” confirmed that Jones and Jota will miss the matches between Luton Town and Chelsea, in addition to the absence of full-back Trent Alexander-Arnold, Hungarian Dominik Soboszlai and Brazilian goalkeeper Alisson due to various injuries.

On the other hand, Klopp brought back his Egyptian top scorer, Mohamed Salah, who scored a goal and made an assist after coming on as a substitute in the last match against Brentford.

Liverpool is looking forward to winning all possible titles this season, to honor its coach Klopp, who will leave the club at the end of the current season, in the best way.
