Prime Minister Eng. Hussein Arnous met today with his Pakistani counterpart Anwarul Haq Kakar, on the sidelines of the World Climate Action Summit held in Dubai as part of the 28th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP 28).
During the meeting, Engineer Arnous stressed the strength and longevity of Syrian-Pakistani relations, expressing thanks and appreciation for Pakistan’s supportive stances towards Syria and the efforts of the Pakistani government in providing humanitarian and relief aid to those affected by the earthquake that struck Syria last February.
Engineer Arnous pointed out the necessity of reactivating the agreements and memoranda of understanding signed between the two countries and upgrading relations in all fields in a way that serves the distinguished relations between the Syrian and Pakistani peoples.
For his part, the Pakistani Prime Minister expressed his hope to reactivate the agreements and remove all obstacles hindering their implementation in a way that serves the interests of both countries, especially in the areas of religious tourism and air transport.
Kaker referred to the crimes taking place in Gaza and the necessity of stopping the Israeli aggression against the Palestinians, noting the necessity of increasing humanitarian aid and delivering it to the people of the Gaza Strip.
Kakar invited Eng. Arnous to visit Pakistan and discuss ways to enhance economic, cultural and educational relations between the two countries.
The meeting was attended by Minister of Local Administration and Environment Eng. Hussein Makhlouf, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Bassam Sabbagh, and Head of the Syrian Diplomatic Mission in the UAE Dr. Ghassan Abbas.
