Emmanuel Restrepo He is perhaps one of the most beloved actors of the moment, being recognized for his versatility both on and off the television screen.
From national productions to the Netflix screen, the Colombian has managed to stand out with emblematic characters such as in ‘Rigo’ and ‘The First Time’.
Now, the countryman is preparing for a new project by being part of the jury of the National Prison Theater Festival, where he will share the stage with Santiago Alarcón and Mariana Gómez.
In an interview with Kienyke.comRestrepo talked about various aspects of his life and acting career, and also shared some of his advice for maintaining authenticity not only in his leading roles, but also in everyday life.
At first, the actor revealed details about his beginnings and career: “I started my acting studies in Medellín. When I graduated, I decided to move to Bogotá, where I continued my training at the Teatro Libre de Bogotá. I remember my first project, called ‘I am Franky’, on Nickelodeon.”
Restrepo also talked about how his life took a big turn when he went from being an actor to serving as a jury in the National Prison Theater Festival.
An event brings together inmates from six prisons to present plays under the direction of renowned national actors and directors. Its main objective is to promote meeting spaces and reconciliation between the prison and civilian population, while promoting resocialization through art.

“It is very gratifying to recognize art as a fundamental tool for resocialization and reconciliation. Theater has been the genesis of my career, and I believe that it should be an opportunity for all those deprived of their liberty,” said the actor.
Furthermore, regarding the jury table for this Festival, he mentioned: “Santiago is my father in a series I do for Netflix. Our relationship is extremely paternal; lI really appreciate him, he is extremely talented and generous.
On the other hand, the native of Medellín shared his experience within La Casa de los Famosos: “I am delighted to give this second life to Carmelowhere I have total creative freedom.”
However, he also referred to the series that changed his life: “‘The First Time’, I love this story; this new season will take an important strength and a more mature approach. “I’m sure you’ll like it, I trust the story and my scene partners.”
