“With a historical moment like this due to the union that it means in the connectivity of airports and towns (…) Colombians have the wonderful opportunity to get to know the Arab world”, highlighted Paris, who pointed out that this new operation in El Dorado has been the result of a “great effort” and invited the Emiratis to visit Colombia, where “there is a lot of green and a lot of water,” he stated.
In February, Emirates requested permission from Aerocivil to operate the route between Bogotá and Dubai, and the Colombian authority confirmed a “growing demand for air travel” between both countries, news that at the time was celebrated by the president, Gustavo Petro: “May old common roots come together again.”
The Boeing 777-300ER used by Emirates on this route also have a cargo capacity of 14 tonnes.
With the operation in Bogotá, Colombia becomes the third country that the airline reaches in South America, since it already flies to Brazil (Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo) and Argentina (Buenos Aires).
