According to the report, Alex, the second participant in the study, received his Neuralink implant through surgery performed at the Barrow Neurological Institute.
Alex was discharged the next day and recovered well. The tests he has done with the implant have included playing video games and learning how to use computers to create 3D objects.
This, according to the company, marks a significant step towards providing a high-performance interface that improves control of digital devices for people with quadriplegia, allowing them to regain their autonomy.

Once the implant was connected, it took Alex less than 5 minutes to control the cursor with his mind and within hours, he surpassed the maximum speed and accuracy he had achieved with other assistive technology.
