Elon Musk agrees to fight with Nicolas Maduro

Nicolás Maduro has described Elon Musk as the “arch enemy of Venezuela.”

Elon Muskthe well-known entrepreneur behind Tesla and X, has accepted an unexpected challenge from the Venezuelan president Nicolas Maduro. This verbal confrontation began on July 29, when Maduro called Musk the “archenemy of Venezuela” in response to a disparaging comment from Musk on X where he called him a “donkey.”

Nicolás Maduro criticized Musk in a televised speech, saying: “There is a thing called social media that creates a virtual reality, and the one who controls it is Elon Musk, our new arch-enemy. Do you want to come with your rockets and an army to invade Venezuela?” Maduro then directly challenged Musk: “Elon Musk, whoever messes with me, dries up. I am ready, I am the son of Bolívar and Chávez. I am not afraid of you.”

Elon Musk’s Response

Elon Musk responded to the challenge on X (formerly Twitter) by commenting on a New York Post article covering Maduro’s challenge. Musk simply said “I accept.” He then detailed the conditions of his challenge: “If I win, he gives up being dictator of Venezuela. If he wins, I give him a free trip to Mars.”

Musk’s responses quickly became a trending topic on X. However, it is uncertain whether the matchup will take place. Last year, Musk had challenged Mark Zuckerberg to a cage fight, but the event never took place, with Zuckerberg questioning Musk’s seriousness.

Musk also took the opportunity to criticize Zuckerberg on X: “Maduro is a big guy and probably knows how to fight, so this would be a real fight. Zuck is a small guy, so that would be a short fight.”

Elon Musk has been one of the most vocal critics of Nicolás Maduro’s victory in the recent elections, a process that was surrounded by accusations of fraud in favor of Hugo Chávez’s successor.
