Electra Trans Global invests BGN 150 million in aircraft repair base –

One of the largest Bulgarian aircraft repair companies from civil aviation – Electra Trans Global, has chosen Burgas as a large -scale investment for aircraft repair and maintenance.

On 74 acres, the company will build one of the largest hangar complexes in the country with a capacity for seven production lines. The investment is worth BGN 120 million and will open at the first stage 500, and at the final 1500 highly qualified jobs, announced the Municipality of Burgas.

In addition, it is envisaged to build a factory for the repair of airline engines for BGN 30 million.

To this end, a contract was signed between the Diocese of Sliven and Electra Trans Global Ltd. for the terrain on which the large -scale complex will be built. It is in close proximity to Burgas Airport and will have a direct connection to the airport.

The signing was attended by Metropolitan Arseniy, Electra Trans Global manager Stefan Trifonov, Burgas Mayor Dimitar Nikolov and Deputy Director of Burgas Airport Dragomir Georgiev.

Project

The project envisages the construction of a hangar complex with a capacity for 7 production lines, adjacent platforms, access roads, workshops, training center, household premises, parking lots and other facilities.

The new repair complex is expected to start working within three years.

Another 5,000 jobs can be created as positions in accompanying businesses, the company said. It currently serves technical types of aircraft Airbus A320 CEO, Boeing 737 Classic/NG and Boeing MD-80 Series.

The placement of such a modern base on the territory of Burgas Airport will make it attractive to new airlines. This in turn will also lead to the expansion of the transport and tourist capabilities of the region.

The idea for the creation of the base is 10 years ago, and its real actions for its realization began in 2019, when a new specialty “Repair of Flighting equipment” was revealed in Burgas Mechanical Engineering. Students from the first graduation are already working at the company, said Stefan Trifonov, CEO “Electra Trans Global”.

“When the plant in Burgas is ready, they will be able to return here in managerial positions,” he added.

Electra Trans Global has over 15 years of experience in repairing and technical service of aircraft and is part of the international group Vector Group. which also has one of the fastest growing airlines in the country – Electra Airways.

The airline was founded by Stefan Trifonov and has shown dynamic growth in recent years. From BGN 4.6 million in 2021 to BGN 135 million in 2023 the company has 8 Airbus A320 aircraft. Its business model is to provide an airplane with crew, maintenance and insurance to fly along the lines of airlines and their tour operators. This new model of work is rated as low -risk because the uncertainty of regular flights and charters is eliminated. All costs are at the expense of the airline that uses the aircraft, and Electra Airway receives rent for them.

A major part of Stefan Trifonov’s business model is the technical service of aircraft, which he does through Electra Trans Global. The company has a base in Varna for the maintenance and maintenance of aircraft with three production lines.
