El Salvador registers a new day without homicides in June

Fulfilling the mandate of President Nayib Bukele to help the population in the face of the State of Emergency due to the intense rains, the DOM crews maintained their presence in different affected areas this Monday, June 17.

The president asked Salvadorans to “take all necessary precautions and not put their lives at risk.”

Among other activities, DOM crews carried out debris removal and cleaning work on the road that leads from Santa Catarina Masahuat to Salcoatitán, in Sonsonate.

Also in Salcoatitán, but in the Santa Elena hamlet, El Puente canton, similar works were carried out on a house affected by a slope, where crews removed tons of earth and completely cleaned the area.

In other actions, in the El Túnel canton, in La Palma, Chalatenango, we supported a group of fishermen to prevent currents from the reservoir from taking away their boats and belongings.

Near the main street of the Huiziltepeque canton, in San Pedro Perulapán, in Cuscatlán, the García family was helped after a tree fell on their home.

In the El Nance passage of the Buenos Aires neighborhood, in Puerto El Triunfo, Usulután, works were carried out to clean pipes and drains to evacuate stagnant water.

Always in the Eastern zone, the call from the municipal authorities to support the removal of a tree that fell on an infrastructure of the Jucuapa health unit, in Usulután, was immediately answered.

This is the DOM’s response to the president’s call to assist the affected population with the purpose of safeguarding the lives of Salvadorans.

As DOM we ask the population to be aware of the different official channels and comply with the instructions of the authorities.
