El Salvador registers a new day without homicides

In a coordinated effort to identify cases of girls, boys and adolescents in connection with the street, the National Council for Early Childhood, Children and Adolescence (CONAPINA) in conjunction with the National Civil Police (PNC) and the Attorney General’s Office of the Republic ( PGR), developed an operation in different areas of the urban area of ​​the department of San Miguel, which allowed the identification of 7 cases of violation of rights.

The intervention, which is part of the Safe Childhood Plan, allowed the location of 3 girls and boys and 4 adolescents who were working or remained on the street, being immediately transferred to the offices of the San Miguel Protection Board to issue the necessary administrative protection measures in order to guarantee their rights such as: education, psychological care and in extreme cases, in which families are not guarantors of rights, institutional care measures.

The timely identification of girls, boys and adolescents in situations of vulnerability has also made it possible to provide inputs to their families to guarantee their economic sustainability. These and other actions allow compliance with the Grow Together Law, which establishes the protection of girls, boys and adolescents against all types of abuse, including those actions or omissions that cause them pain, suffering or damage to their health and physical integrity. psychological, moral or sexual. Likewise, it prohibits abandonment, neglect of family obligations, and exploitation of children and adolescents through begging or any other form.

CONAPINA will continue to work in close coordination with institutions of the National Protection System and civil society organizations to guarantee the comprehensive protection of children and adolescents from Early Childhood.
