A man who faked his own kidnapping to hide the fact that he stole more than $3,000 was detained by elements of the National Civil Police (PNC) in a sector of the department of La Libertad.
The detainee responds to the name of Javier Ernesto Paula Marroquín, 24 years old, who works as a cashier at a hotel in El Tunco beach, from which he stole $3,600 and, in an attempt to hide his crime, faked a crime against him.
Paula Marroquín claimed that some hooded individuals had deprived him of his freedom and forced him to hand over the money. To further fake the kidnapping, he hit himself in different parts of his body, according to the Police.
When the complaint was filed, the Police carried out an investigation, which determined that what Marroquín said was false and, after a review, they found $600, since the rest of the money had been deposited in his bank account, so He will be prosecuted for simulation of a crime.
